The Oronoco Fire Department is a member of the Olmsted County, Wabasha, and Zumbro Valley Mutual Aid groups and the Minnesota Fire Relief Association.
Our current apparatuses include two tankers, a large pumper, a mini-pumper, a pickup with rescue tools, and a six-wheeler with water and medical equipment (partially funded with a donation from the Downtown Oronoco Gold Rush committee). We have newer turnout gear and SCBAs (self-contained breathing apparatus), a foam unit for many uses including gas spills, as well as many fire extinguishers, ladders, and a wide array of tools and other equipment.
Our team meets twice per month. On the second Monday of the month, we have our business meeting at 6:30 p.m. The fourth Monday of the month is reserved as our training night, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Both meetings are held at the Oronoco Fire Hall. Our training is organized by the Training Officer and includes working with our current equipment.
